Gateways or Third-party payment methods?

in Payments and Shipping

A payment gateway/merchant account combination is like a regular bank account – you have an account at your bank for processing transactions and the money that passes into it gets transferred directly into your business bank account. You also need a payment gateway service which can be provided by your bank or you can use a third party depending on your needs.

Bank/Financial Services provider based payment gateway services are:

  • NAB Transact
  • ANZ eGate
  • Westpac PayWay
  • Commonwealth Bank CommWeb
  • Suncorp Virtual Payments
  • St.George Hosted Payments
  • Bendigo Bank Website Payment Gateway

These are all in one services that you only require one provider to sign up with.

Third party gateway services supported by Ozcart include:

  • SecurePay
  • eWAY
  • Worldpay
  • DPS Payment Express
  • e-Path
  • iPayBy
  • StrataPay
  • Paystation

These are third party services so you will need a merchant account at your bank as well as the above service of your choice.

The alternative to a gateway service is a third party provider like Stripe, Skrill, PayPal, or 2Checkout. Those are also integrated in Ozcart.
